Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Dubai seeks an experienced Aircraft Lighting Technician to inspect, repair, and test lighting components on aircraft.

You will follow CMMs, AMMs, and SRMs, document results in the MRO system, and maintain safety and tool control on the production floor. This onsite role requires 3+ years in aircraft MRO, a technical diploma, and ability to work overtime; you will collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Planning.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of relevant MRO experience.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and test aircraft lighting components and assemblies.
• Perform maintenance in accordance with CMMs, AMMs, SRMs, technical instructions, and other approved data.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using appropriate test equipment and tooling.
• Carry out functional and operational testing after repair to ensure components meet required specifications.
• Accurately record inspection findings, repair actions, test results, and component status in the applicable MRO system.
• Maintain proper tool control, FOD prevention, ESD precautions, and good housekeeping within the work area.
• Ensure all tools and test equipment used are serviceable and within calibration requirements.
• Identify non-conformances, unusual findings, and repair limitations and elevate them to the appropriate personnel.
• Support troubleshooting and development of new repair capabilities and processes.
• Follow company procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and Part-145 requirements.
• Maintain productivity and turnaround targets while ensuring quality and airworthiness requirements are not compromised.
• Support continuous improvement activities, including reduction of rework, NFF findings, turnaround time, and customer escapes.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and other MRO cells when required.

Experience / Requirements / Qualifications:

• Minimum Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
• Ability to utilize computer systems (MS Office, Etc.) to input & retrieve information.
• Must be available for overtime, including extended workdays and weekends.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Technical diploma/certificate in Aviation Maintenance, Electrical/Electronics, or a related field.
• Previous experience in aircraft component MRO, preferably with aircraft lighting systems.
• Ability to read and interpret CMMs, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic troubleshooting and test equipment.
• Familiarity with aviation quality and safety requirements, preferably Part-145.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and meet operational targets.

Working Conditions:

• 100% of time spent on production floor with occasional loud noise, requiring safety glasses.
• Constant daily exposure to adhesive and solvent vapors.
• Constant daily pushing and pulling of material.
• Minimal exposure to machinery with moving parts.
• Ability to use and manipulate clamps, brushes (with gloves on), pushers, scissors, seam tape and talc.
• May need to carry materials.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
