A technology-based company in the United Arab Emirates seeks a skilled Fiber Optic Technician with in-depth knowledge of fiber optic fundamentals and related hands-on experience. Responsibilities include managing project execution from initiation to completion, liaising with technical teams, and ensuring adherence to telecom standards. Candidates should have experience with fiber optic equipment and project activities related to SFAN.
In-depth knowledge of fiber optic fundamentals, and fiber optic basics with hands-on experience in splicing & termination techniques (FTB, IDF & various types of FPP)
Details knowledge of different types in fiber optic cables, with cabling & jointing techniques for ISP/OSP infrastructure in GPON/FTTx network environment
Hands-on experience of fiber optic test equipment Fiber Identifier (FI), Visual Fault Locator (VFL), Optical Light Source (OLS), Optical Power Meter (OPM) & OTDR etc.
Complete understanding of Telecom Civil Infrastructure for Fixed Network with specifications of cable ducts & different types of JRCs according to du telecom standards
Must be familiar of Du SFAN Project Activities such as Electromechanical (Cable Tray), Active Equipment (AE), Splitter Installation & ATP, Mobile-IIB & CSG etc.
Must have experience of the Du SFAN Project Activities as ISP SOW (FNE-VC, FES-SO), ISP-Inspection (Rollout & Taawun), ISP Shortfall (In-Zone & Consumer SF) & OSP SOW (Rollout, Taawun & Uplinks/Tapping)
To liaise with Sr. Technician/Field Engineer/Site Supervisor/Coordinator/Team Leads for project execution in accordance with SOW & client SOP/guidelines in order to achieve project objectives & goals
Responsible for assigned activity end-to-end execution/implementation from access permission, survey till completion, site photos for documentation & record keeping
Ability to read & interpret SLD, DD, and network diagrams & update necessary changes with the concerned department
Knowledge of basic to advanced level tools & their appropriate usage as per requirements on assigned tasks
