Job description

To perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of building fabric and civil assets, including masonry, carpentry, painting, tiling, gypsum works, waterproofing, and related finishing works. The Civil Multi Technician is responsible for maintaining the structural integrity, functionality, and appearance of facilities while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance
  • Conduct routine inspections of building fabric, architectural finishes, and common areas.
  • Identify and rectify minor defects before they develop into major issues.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance of walls, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, and other civil assets.
  • Inspect waterproofing systems and report any signs of leakage or deterioration.
Corrective Maintenance
  • Repair cracks, damaged plaster, masonry, concrete surfaces, and floor finishes.
  • Carry out replacement and repair of ceramic tiles, marble, granite, and paving blocks.
  • Perform painting and touch-up works for internal and external surfaces.
  • Repair gypsum ceilings, partitions, false ceilings, and decorative finishes.
  • Attend breakdown maintenance requests and rectify defects within contractual response times.
Carpentry & Joinery Works
  • Repair and maintain wooden doors, cabinets, wardrobes, shelves, and furniture.
  • Adjust and replace door closers, hinges, handles, locks, and related accessories.
  • Carry out minor carpentry fabrication and installation works.
  • Maintain wooden finishes and carry out repairs as required.
Building Fabric Maintenance
  • Maintain walls, ceilings, floors, roofs, staircases, and external building elements.
  • Carry out silicone sealing, grouting, caulking, and expansion joint repairs.
  • Perform waterproofing repairs and leakage rectification works.
  • Assist in façade and external building maintenance activities when required.
  • Support minor renovation projects and office modifications.
  • Install partitions, gypsum boards, floor finishes, and related civil components.
  • Assist in space planning modifications and tenant fit-out works.
  • Carry out snag rectification and handover-related works.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Follow company HSE policies and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Use appropriate PPE during maintenance activities.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in work areas.
  • Report unsafe conditions, defects, and potential hazards immediately.
  • Ensure all works comply with client requirements and applicable standards.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately.
  • Record materials and consumables used for maintenance activities.
  • Report recurring defects and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist supervisors in preparing maintenance and inspection reports.
Qualifications
  • ITI/Trade Certificate in Civil, Masonry, Carpentry, Building Maintenance, or equivalent.
  • Additional vocational certifications in building maintenance will be an advantage.
Experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Facilities Management, property maintenance, or building maintenance.
  • Experience in residential towers, commercial buildings, government facilities, hospitals, hotels, or mixed-use developments is preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of masonry, plastering, painting, tiling, carpentry, and gypsum works.
  • Experience in waterproofing and leakage rectification.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Understanding of building drawings and maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of material selection and repair techniques for building finishes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Customer-oriented approach with attention to quality.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance tasks and meet response-time requirements.
Working Conditions
  • Work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or access equipment as required.
  • Emergency call-outs and shift duties may be required depending on contract requirements.
  • Physical ability to perform manual maintenance activities.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in UAE/GCC Facilities Management contracts.
  • Familiarity with KPI/SLA-driven maintenance environments.
  • Experience using CAFM systems and mobile work-order applications.
  • Knowledge of snag rectification, preventive maintenance programs, and client inspection requirements.
