Job summary

EFS Facilities Services Group (EFS) is seeking a hands-on Technical Trainer - Hard Services in the UAE to design and deliver practical and classroom training across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems and other hard services.

The role emphasizes improving technician competency, conducting assessments, and maintaining compliant, safe practices while working with Engineering and Operations teams across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Relevant technical training or instructor certification is an advantage.
• 5–8 years of experience in Facilities Management, MEP, Engineering, Maintenance or Technical Training.
• Strong practical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems and hard services maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver structured technical training programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems and other hard services disciplines.
• Conduct hands-on and classroom training to improve technicians' troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance and safe equipment operation.
• Perform competency assessments to evaluate technician skills and identify upskilling needs.
• Develop and maintain training materials, manuals, SOPs, work instructions, presentations and assessment docs.
• Deliver training on HSE requirements, safe working practices, regulatory compliance and permit-to-work systems.
• Coordinate with Facility Managers, Engineering Managers, Supervisors and Operations to identify training needs and align with operations.
• Monitor training effectiveness via practical assessments, feedback and performance improvements.
• Maintain records of attendance, assessments, certifications and development plans.

At EFS Facilities Services, we are looking for a hands-on Technical Trainer - Hard Services to develop and deliver technical training programs for engineering and maintenance teams across our UAE operations. This role is suited for an experienced engineering professional with strong practical knowledge of hard services and the ability to translate technical concepts into effective, hands-on learning.

Role Overview:

The Technical Trainer - Hard Services will be responsible for delivering practical and classroom-based training across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and other hard services disciplines. The role will focus on improving technician competency, supporting operational requirements, conducting technical assessments, and ensuring employees follow safe working practices, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver structured technical training programs covering HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and other hard services disciplines.
• Conduct hands-on and classroom training to improve technicians' skills in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, repair, and safe equipment operation.
• Conduct technical competency assessments to evaluate technicians' skill levels and identify areas requiring further training and development.
• Develop and maintain training materials, technical manuals, SOPs, work instructions, presentations, and assessment documentation.
• Deliver training on HSE requirements, safe working practices, regulatory compliance, permit-to-work systems, and industry best practices.
• Work closely with Facility Managers, Engineering Managers, Supervisors, and Operations teams to identify training requirements and align programs with operational needs.
• Monitor training effectiveness through practical assessments, feedback, competency evaluations, and performance improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of training attendance, assessments, competency results, certifications, and employee development plans.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies, maintenance practices, energy-efficiency solutions, and developments within the facilities management industry.

What We're Looking For:

• Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant technical training or instructor certification will be an advantage.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in Facilities Management, MEP, Engineering, Maintenance, or Technical Training.
• Strong practical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and general hard services maintenance.
• Proven experience in delivering technical training to technicians, supervisors, and engineering teams.
• Experience in conducting technical competency assessments and developing employee upskilling plans.
