Job summary

Duncan & Ross Consulting seeks an experienced E&I Engineer to provide engineering and site technical support for Electrical & Instrumentation activities across Oil & Gas, Energy, Marine, Infrastructure or Defense projects.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review method statements, MARs, and subcontracts RFQs for E&I activities.
• Review vendor drawings and engineering deliverables and coordinate comments with stakeholders.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, procurement, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
• Develop and coordinate tie-in schedules for E&I installation and execution.
• Conduct site surveys and vendor inspections and provide technical information.
• Provide technical support to procurement and construction teams on E&I materials and installation requirements.
• Manage instrument calibration activities, calibration checks, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting.
• Witness and verify E&I activities carried out by vendors and manufacturers.
• Prepare and maintain redline mark-up drawings based on site changes and as-built conditions.
• Monitor daily site progress for E&I activities.
• Review 3D models against PRs/material requirements and raise deviations.
• Identify material and technical deviations for resolution.
• Coordinate E&I activities with Civil, Mechanical, Piping and other disciplines.
• Support construction and commissioning teams with field engineering assistance.
• Ensure E&I activities comply with HSE, QA/QC, and project standards.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced E&I Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Marine, Infrastructure, or Defense projects. The candidate will provide engineering and site technical support for Electrical & Instrumentation activities, coordinating with engineering, construction, procurement, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth and compliant project execution. The role involves reviewing technical documentation, supporting procurement and construction activities, conducting site surveys, coordinating instrumentation calibration and testing, reviewing vendor drawings and 3D models, and ensuring compliance with HSE and QA/QC requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support construction and commissioning teams with technical troubleshooting and field engineering assistance.
• Ensure all E&I activities are executed in accordance with approved HSE procedures, QA/QC requirements, project specifications, and applicable standards.
• Maintain proper technical records, inspection documentation, and site reports throughout project execution.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams as required.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant E&I engineering/site experience.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Marine, Infrastructure, Defense, or EPC projects is preferred.
• Strong experience in vendor drawing review, technical document review, and client/contractor/subcontractor coordination.
• Proven experience providing technical support to procurement and construction teams.
• Hands-on experience in instrument calibration, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and testing during construction and commissioning.
• Experience in witnessing and verifying E&I activities with vendors and manufacturers.
• Good understanding of E&I installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination experience with Civil, Mechanical, Piping, and other engineering disciplines.
• Familiarity with 3D model reviews, redline mark-ups, material deviations, and site surveys.
• Good knowledge of HSE and QA/QC procedures and their application on project sites.
• Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary EPC project environment.
