Job summary

Adecco is recruiting an experienced Technical Director for a leading manufacturer in the building envelope and architectural systems sector. The role oversees R&D, product development, testing, certification, and long-term strategy across facade, aluminium, curtain walling, glazing, and related systems.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, drive product roadmaps, and manage budgets and timelines while collaborating with executive leadership to meet strategic business objectives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
• MBA or additional business qualification preferred.
• 15+ years' experience within facade systems, aluminium, fenestration, curtain walling, architectural glazing, or building envelope products.
• Proven leadership experience within a Technical, R&D, Engineering, Innovation, or Product Development environment.
• Strong understanding of product testing, certification, industry standards, and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated experience developing commercially successful products and systems.
• Experience managing international projects, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate customer requirements into market-leading solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the R&D and Product Development function across multiple product lines.
• Drive new product introduction from concept through design, testing, certification, and market launch.
• Establish and implement long-term product roadmaps aligned with market trends and customer requirements.
• Manage product performance, system optimization, and value-engineering initiatives.
• Oversee testing, certification, compliance, and technical approvals in accordance with international standards.
• Work closely with commercial, manufacturing, engineering, and executive leadership teams to deliver strategic business objectives.
• Identify emerging technologies, materials, and industry trends to maintain competitive advantage.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering and product development teams.
• Manage R&D budgets, resources, project schedules, and innovation pipelines.
