Job summary

Store Makers - Middle East is seeking a skilled Technical Designer/Engineer with 5+ years in shopfitting to create 3D models and detailed 2D drawings for furniture and installations. You will manage project plans, produce RFIs, and collaborate with Procurement, PM, and Estimation teams to ensure precise, on-time delivery.

The role requires high proficiency in 3D/2D drafting, strong English language skills, and experience with ERP systems for BOM and project tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in Technical Design/Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience in shopfitting industry.
• 3D modeling to high proficiency.
• 2D technical drawing to high proficiency.
• Proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models based on client details for furniture and installations.
• Produce detailed 2D approval drawings for individual furniture items.
• Maintain a detailed project time plan and logs for submissions.
• Create RFIs to clarify technical requirements.
• Propose value engineering options for furniture and installations.
• Support Procurement and PM during material approvals.
• Maintain ERP data (BOM, project hours, drawing details).
• Use in-house software to database 3D/2D content.
• Provide technical support to Estimation, Procurement, PM and Key Account Managers.
• Conduct site and vendor visits as needed.

Role Description

• Responsible for timely completion and accuracy of technical project work.
• Create 3D models based on client proposed details for furniture, and installations.
• Produce Detailed 2D approval drawings for individual items of furniture.
• Maintain a detailed projected time plan of all items within a project submission.
• Maintain project log of approval drawings submissions.
• Create requests for information for a complete technical understanding of requirements.
• Propose mock up details of furniture and installations to ensure effective delivery to client.
• Produce changes to drawings based upon client comments and feedback.
• Suggest value engineering options for furniture and installations.
• Provide assistance to Procurement and PM departments during material approval process.
• Maintenance and update of ERP system (eg. BOM, Project Hours, Drawing Details).
• Use in-house work manager software to database all 3D and 2D content.
• Provide technical support to Estimation, Procurement, PM and Key Account Managers.
• Retrieve necessary technical information in project kick off meetings.
• Produce and check detailed workshop drawings for in house factory and vendors.
• Follow company procedure for saving and filing relevant project data.
• Maintain clear lines of communication throughout the business
• Work in an organized fashion to ensure successful completion of projects. Includes: maintaining personal task/to do lists, time management.
• Support the Project Management with the execution of projects
• Make site visits where necessary
• Make vendor visits where necessary
• Supports the Management Team as and when required.

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Technical Design or Engineering Degree or equivalent
• At least 5 years’ experience in shopfitting industry.
• 3D modeling to a high level of proficiency
• 2D technical drawing to a high level of proficiency
• Proficient in English
