In this role the teacher will deliver engaging mathematics lessons within an American Curriculum school, use assessment evidence to improve student progress, and contribute to a positive learning community committed to high expectations, inclusion, innovation, and the educational aspirations of Emirati students.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver inspiring mathematics lessons that motivate students to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes.
• Plan learning activities that align with the American Curriculum and the school’s academic expectations.
• Develop students’ understanding of number, algebra, geometry, measurement, statistics, reasoning, and problem‑solving.
• Work collaboratively with fellow teachers to prepare engaging lessons, resources, assessments, and intervention activities.
• Build positive professional relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with stakeholders at all levels.
• Liaise flexibly with teaching teams and curriculum support staff to address individual learning needs.
• Work with parents to support students’ happiness, wellbeing, attendance, and academic progress.
• Maintain a clear and current understanding of the mathematics curriculum and expected learning standards.
• Organize classroom resources, learning displays, and mathematical materials to create an engaging environment.
• Prepare lessons that provide suitable challenge and support for the full ability range.
• Use enthusiastic, imaginative, and practical teaching methods to make mathematical concepts accessible.
• Encourage students to explain their reasoning, apply mathematical knowledge, and solve unfamiliar problems.
• Observe and assess students in accordance with school assessment procedures.
• Reflect on lesson delivery, classroom provision, student engagement, and progress.
• Adjust teaching methods, resources, curriculum coverage, and interventions based on assessment evidence.
• Collaborate with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other professionals when required.
• Embed the school’s Teacher and Learner DNA language, attitudes, and values throughout classroom practice.
• Take responsibility for the attainment and progress of assigned students.
• Record student development accurately using Target Tracker and other approved school systems.
• Analyze assessment data to inform future planning, differentiated provision, and targeted intervention.
• Identify learning gaps and provide suitable support or extension activities.
• Give students timely and constructive feedback that clarifies their next learning steps.
• Provide parents and carers with clear updates during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
• Follow the school’s behaviour policy consistently and fairly.
• Manage classes effectively using approaches suited to students’ ages, needs, and learning profiles.
• Maintain respectful relationships with pupils and exercise appropriate authority when necessary.
• Model the positive attitudes, values, professionalism, and conduct expected across the school.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, self‑control, responsibility, and learner independence.
• Complete supervision and duty responsibilities in accordance with school policy.
• Participate in curriculum action groups supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events.
• Help organise and attend school outings, activities, celebrations, and events that may occur during evenings or weekends.
• Communicate student achievement and wellbeing through approved school systems such as CPOMS.
• Make a positive contribution to the wider culture, ethos, and development of the school.
• Lead one weekly extracurricular activity during each term.
• Maintain accurate academic, safeguarding, behavioural, and pastoral records.
• Participate in professional development, coaching, collaborative planning, and school improvement initiatives.
• Fulfil other reasonable duties assigned by school leadership.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related subject.
• PGCE or another recognised teacher qualification.
• Minimum 1‑2 years of classroom teaching experience.

Benefits and Compensation

Salary: AED 10,000–15,000 per month (subject to final confirmation).
