Responsibilities
- Participate in supplier process reviews, quality audit, control plan development, process capability and gage studies, and other milestone events.
- Participate in initial and sustaining part qualification, including part approval activities as required by the level of criticality of the component.
- Participate in supplier qualification and selection activities, including taking the lead on supplier quality assessments.
- Develop, analyze, and report quality performance metrics of actual supplier performance.
- Identify opportunities for supplier development and process improvement activities, while driving corrective actions & problem root cause analysis as necessary.
- Initiate, review and track supplier corrective actions requests until actions have been implemented and verified as effective.
- Assess and ensure quality and compliance with specifications and standards.
- Resolve quality issues with the suppliers.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure that incoming materials meet the required specifications.
- Work with suppliers to develop quality improvement plans and ensure their implementation.
- Mentor and set an example for all lower‑grade production operators, promoting quality, H&S & environmental management systems.
- Ensure routine tasks are completed as planned.
- Identify labour/material cost savings as part of ongoing improvements and lean initiatives.
- Improve production output as part of ongoing improvements and lean initiatives.
- Identify QHSE issues and coordinate with concerned HODs or Safety Officer for any issues observed to be addressed.
- Take reasonable care for own health and safety and for others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
- Avoid wearing jewellery or loose clothing while inside the shop floor.
- Knowledge in IMS policy, objectives & targets.
- Adhere to the company’s HSE policy, ensuring 100% PPE compliance when going out to the shop floor, and cooperate with any measures the employer takes to comply with OHS requirements.
- Familiar with the use of emergency equipment such as fire alarm call point and fire extinguisher, with full knowledge of emergency assembly procedure.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience.
- UAE driving licence.
- Knowledge in quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001.
- Technical proficiency in electrical and mechanical concepts.
