Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Site Engineer for substation projects in Abu Dhabi. This role involves supervising and executing mechanical works, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.

The engineer will coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure quality workmanship and effective problem resolution during project execution. Ideal candidates should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering and have 3-7 years of relevant site experience.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of site execution experience in mechanical works for substation or power projects.
• Experience in high-voltage substations (132kV, 220kV, 400kV) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day mechanical activities at the substation site.
• Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of all mechanical equipment.
• Ensure all works comply with project specifications and standards.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil and other discipline teams for smooth execution.

Skills

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems used in substations (HVAC, firefighting, oil systems)

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs and layouts

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Good communication and coordination abilities

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
