Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Service Engineer to lead retrofit upgrades, system extensions, and SLA programs for Substation Automation systems. You will manage site activities, ensure safety and quality, and drive projects with diverse teams.

The role requires 6–10 years of SCMS engineering experience, strong knowledge of automation protocols, and hands-on work with MicroSCADA/RTU systems. Travel to client sites is 100%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, automation.
• 6–10 years of experience as an SCMS engineer with design, testing and commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of Substation Automation Systems and IEC 101/104/61850, LON, SPA, Modbus.
• Proficiency with Hitachi Energy MicroSCADA/RTU and IEDs from various manufacturers.
• Familiarity with OT cybersecurity concepts and testing methodologies.
• Excellent English communication, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to travel 100% to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Service Engineering function in project and customer meetings and plan execution.
• Coordinate with customers and partners to prepare project documents and schedules.
• Execute service activities including system integrations, factory tests, and site implementations.
• Perform system modifications, SAT, energization checks, and final acceptance.
• Develop HMIs and system databases per project specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.
• Support tendering with service estimates and cross‑functional collaboration.
