Job summary

Saipem in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Buyer – Services and Subcontracts to join Corporate Staff procurement. You will help define contract strategy, issue bids, and manage supplier negotiations.

The role requires 2–8 years of experience, a degree in engineering or economics/legal, and English at least B2. Proficiency with SAP, SAP Ariba, and data warehouse tools is expected, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or economic/legal background.
• English at least B2.
• Procurement IT tools (SAP, SAP Ariba, Data Warehouse) and MS Office.
• Analytical, problem solving and flexibility.
• Willingness for mobility to other locations, including abroad.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the definition of the procurement contract strategy with technical/project units.
• Prepare bidding strategy and reference bidder list.
• Issue bid requests to suppliers based on technical unit needs.
• Support suppliers during proposals and clarify with technical units.
• Prepare economic tabulation to compare proposals and suggest actions.
• Conduct commercial/economic negotiations.
• Finalize bidding with proper documents and contracts.
• Follow up and negotiate order revisions as needed.
• Record contract documentation in company systems.
• Coordinate with Supply chain/project teams and suppliers across time zones.

As Buyer – Services And Subcontracts, You Will Join Our Function Procurement, In The Business Line Corporate Staff, Conducting The Following Activities

• Participate in the definition of the procurement contract strategy in close collaboration with the relevant technical/project units.
• Prepare the bidding strategy and reference bidder list.
• Issue bid request to suppliers based on the purchase request specified by the technical units.
• Support suppliers during the preparation of technical/commercial proposals, interfacing with technical units for any clarifications.
• Prepare the commercial/economic tabulation to compare the different proposals and suggest actions to be taken to improve the bid outcome and/or select the supplier.
• Conduct the commercial/economic negotiation.
• Finalize the bidding process by preparing appropriate authorizing documents and prepare the relevant contract.
• Follow up and negotiate order revisions as necessary.
• Perform assigned tasks in accordance with procedures and company provided systems and tools.
• Manage the appropriate recording of contract documentation.
• Previous experience in Global Supply chain Subcontracting Projects Modules / FPSO / FLNG / FPU etc preferred
• Ability to work on more than one initiative under pressure and within tight deadlines
• Flexibility to work with Supply chain / Project team and suppliers in different time zones
• Job may require business trips or short term mobilization to Joint venture/ supplier home country or Italy to conclude negotiations
• Proven track record on bid preparation, critical negotiations and price consistency checks

QUALIFICATION

Degree in engineering or economic/legal background.
