Job summary

Saipem in the United Arab Emirates invites a Buyer – Services and Subcontracts to join our Procurement team. You will help define contract strategy, issue bid requests, and support technical/proposal clarifications across international units, ensuring competitive outcomes.

Responsibilities include negotiating commercial terms, finalizing contracts, and managing documentation while collaborating with technical units, suppliers, and cross-time-zone teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or economic/legal background.
• English proficiency at least B2.
• 2–8 years of experience in procurement or related field.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the definition of the procurement contract strategy in close collaboration with the relevant technical/project units.
• Prepare the bidding strategy and reference bidder list.
• Issue bid requests to suppliers based on the purchase request specified by the technical units.
• Support suppliers during the preparation of technical/commercial proposals, interfacing with technical units for clarifications.
• Prepare the commercial/economic tabulation to compare the different proposals and suggest actions to improve bid outcome and/or select the supplier.
• Conduct the commercial/economic negotiation.
• Finalize the bidding process by preparing appropriate authorizing documents and the relevant contract.
• Follow up and negotiate order revisions as necessary.
• Perform assigned tasks in accordance with procedures and company provided systems and tools.
• Manage the appropriate recording of contract documentation.
• Previous experience in Global Supply chain Subcontracting Projects Modules / FPSO / FLNG / FPU etc preferred
• Ability to work on more than one initiative under pressure and within tight deadlines
• Flexibility to work with Supply chain / Project team and suppliers in different time zones
• Job may require business trips or short term mobilization to Joint venture/ supplier home country or Italy to conclude negotiations
• Proven track record on bid preparation, critical negotiations and price consistency checks

As Buyer – Services and Subcontracts, you will join our Function Procurement, in the business line Corporate Staff, conducting the following activities:

QUALIFICATION: Degree in engineering or economic/legal background.

KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE: At least B2

CONTRACT DURATION: 1 year extendable

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 2-8.

IT SKILLS: Procurement IT tools (SAP, SAP ARIBA, Data Warehouse) and Microsoft Office

SOFT SKILLS: Good analytical skills, problem solving, flexibility

NICE TO HAVE: Availability for medium-long term mobility also in other locations in Italy and abroad;
