Job description

  • Prepare structural reinforcement shop drawings, monitor progress, and coordinate with the site and approvals for any field changes.
  • Ensuring effective project coordination among internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely reviews within contractual work schedules.
  • Monitor the production of shop-drawings, ensuring alignment with design drawings, project specifications, and submission schedules.
  • Support team activities, forecasting monthly drawings/rebar orders and providing weekly reports on REINFORCEMENT drawings' status to optimize quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct detailed progress reviews, highlighting and addressing problem areas, technical issues, and corrective measures through regular project progress meetings.
  • Prepare and control variations with subcontractors.
  • Propose innovative technical solutions for structural challenges on site. Initiate proactive communication with subcontractor and client to fully comprehend their objectives and requirements for structural needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized university; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of GCC experience in a similar structural engineering role, specifically on major high-rise building projects.
  • Proven experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors in the execution and delivery of complex structural works.
  • Strong contracting background with hands-on exposure to construction site execution, coordination, and delivery.
  • Solid knowledge of structural systems, concrete and steel works, and construction methodologies relevant to high-rise buildings.
  • Excellent understanding of structural drawings, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.
  • Strong familiarity with international and local codes and GCC construction standards.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, and Revit Structure.
  • Proven ability to manage on-site structural activities, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills with a strong delivery focus and attention to deadlines and quality.
  • Experience in preparing technical reports, method statements, and supporting documents required for structural submissions and approvals.
