Job summary

Doha Bank UAE is seeking a senior risk leader to head the risk portfolio across credit, operational, market and governance risk. You will oversee risk identification, assessment, monitoring and control, while aligning with CB-UAE Basel guidelines and Head Office risk framework.

You will drive reporting, governance, and strategic risk initiatives, coordinating with HO risk management and regulatory bodies to ensure robust risk management at the UAE branch.

Qualifications

• University graduate with a degree in Business or Banking or Finance.
• Master’s degree in management or related discipline is an added advantage.
• 13-18 years of total experience in financial services/banking industry, with leadership roles.
• Prior experience in a similar capacity.
• Candidates currently based in the UAE will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement risk department strategy, policies and procedures for the UAE Branch.
• Collaborate with HO risk function to develop risk management framework and strategies.
• Ensure risk plans meet budgets and timelines; provide progress reports.
• Keep HO committees and regulators informed of significant risk issues.
• Stay updated on CBUAE regulations and implement changes to risk framework.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal/external stakeholders to support risk needs.
• Review risk policies to align with market conditions and regulatory guidelines.
• Oversee data collection on operational losses and implement risk monitoring tools.
