Job summary

voco Sharjah, part of InterContinental Hotels Group, seeks a Purchasing Manager to lead procurement across hotel operations in the UAE. You will drive supplier negotiations, ensure timely purchasing, and monitor inventory while upholding quality and cost controls.

The role requires a strong background in hospitality procurement, team leadership, and fluency in English. A strategic partner to department heads, you will support budgets and sustainable purchasing practices in a dynamic property

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 4–5 years purchasing/procurement experience in UAE hospitality with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, supplier negotiations, and contract administration.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and delivering cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across departments and with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Purchasing function to ensure timely procurement of quality goods and services.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
• Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order with policy compliance.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock takes to minimise waste and maintain efficiency.
• Review supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, local regulations, and ethical procurement standards.
• Collaborate with department heads to understand operational requirements and ensure timely materials availability.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and product availability to support informed decisions.
• Prepare purchasing reports and analyze procurement data to drive improvements.
• Support budget management by monitoring expenses and identifying profitability opportunities.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation for audit and compliance.
• Lead and develop the Purchasing team and promote a service-focused culture.
• Promote sustainable procurement practices and responsible sourcing.
