Job summary

Amentum is seeking a skilled Material Control Specialist to manage warehouse control, inventory accuracy, and requisition processes on a USAF contract. The role requires handling NexGen IT system duties, while coordinating with shops to forecast purchasing needs and maintain stock levels.

The candidate will ensure material accountability, conduct inventories, and generate essential reports for leadership. Strong communication, safety compliance, and forklift operation are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to obtain and maintain SECRET Government Clearance.
• Knowledge of supply, finance, stock control, warehousing, purchasing, and related regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel; able to manipulate data, use macros, pivots, and build presentations.
• Understanding of civil engineering workflow and work order scheduling processes.
• Experience with government or military environments.
• Capability to generate reports for management and customer.
• Licensed to operate a 6K and 10K forklift.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Establishes a training program including NexGen training for contractor personnel.
• Reviews training quarterly to ensure it is up to date and deadlines are met.
• Manages materiel and accountability in stores; coordinates purchasing requirements for the fiscal year.
• Maintains NexGen IT stock levels and conducts routine inventories; removes obsolete items.
• Develops procedures to provide material for mission requirements during non‑normal hours.
• Prepares NexGen requisitions, POs, and PRs; loads inventory into NexGen database.
• Produces reports and slides showing stock levels, spend rates, and order/delivery status.
• Ensures safe storage and handling of hazardous materials and maintains accurate audit trails.
