Qualifications

• Substantial professional experience in corporate budgeting, forecasting, and financial control.
• Experience with Joint Ventures and shareholder reporting is valuable.
• Strong ability to consolidate multi-department financial information and explain variances.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate preparation and consolidation of Original Budgets and Spring Forecasts for Joint and Associated Ventures.
• Ensure budgets/forecasts are issued accurately and timely to shareholders and venture companies.
• Monitor expenditure against budgets; investigate over-runs and under-runs.
• Prepare mandatory financial and budget reports for shareholders and management.
• Ensure budgeting processes comply with company policies and reporting requirements.
• Prepare consolidated fixed asset and depreciation schedules for shareholder reporting.
• Respond to budget-related queries from auditors and provide explanations.
• Direct and supervise personnel involved in budgets for company divisions.
• Coordinate with divisional controllers during Original and Spring Forecast budgets.
• Monitor budget preparation progress and ensure submissions follow guidelines.
• Consolidate inputs from multiple areas into comprehensive budget reports.
• Prepare supporting information for management budget presentations and variance analyses.
• Support development of budget presentations and participate in meetings.
• Coordinate with divisions to obtain financial information for capital projects and maintenance.
• Ensure monthly, quarterly and final accounts are prepared and consolidated on deadlines.
• Maintain Fixed Assets Register updates for new and existing projects.
• Review monthly expenditure against budgets and maintain controls.
• Investigate material deviations and coordinate corrective actions.
• Alert leadership to unusual expenditure trends and financial transactions.
• Monitor capital commitments and expenditure for projects, plants, and maintenance.
• Review expenditure documentation against approved capital budgets.
• Notify asset controllers when unbudgeted expenditure is identified.
• Plan and coordinate budgeting/financial control activities to meet objectives.
• Train assigned employees in budgeting, reporting, and controls.
• Provide financial input for department budgets and support work plans.
• Investigate variances and recommend actions for cost control.
