Job summary

ALFIRAS General Contracting seeks a highly experienced Claims & Contracts Director to lead strategic governance of contracts across its UAE projects, including FIDIC-based agreements and major developments.

You will mentor Contracts and Claims teams, manage claims, variations and disputes, and develop strategies to maximize value, protect contractual rights, and ensure successful resolutions with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years in construction.
• Minimum 10 years in senior contracts/claims leadership.
• Proven experience with main contractors in UAE/GCC.
• Strong background in high-rise buildings, hospitality, mixed-use, infrastructure, and government projects.
• Advanced knowledge of FIDIC Conditions of Contract.

Responsibilities

• Lead contract management and governance across all projects.
• Develop and implement contract administration strategies and best practices.
• Oversee notices, claims submissions and responses.
• Lead major claims (EOT, delays, prolongation, variations, loss and expense, acceleration).
• Establish strategies to maximize entitlement and recovery.
• Coordinate with external legal advisors on complex matters.
• Oversee variations and ensure commercial recovery.
• Lead Contracts and Claims teams and set performance standards.
