Qualifications

• 15+ years in contract management on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
• Extensive knowledge of FIDIC contracts, claims management, variations, and dispute resolution.
• Experience representing Owner, Developer, or Project Company preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee contract management frameworks and performance for major infrastructure projects.
• Review EPC contractor claims and dispute strategies.
• Act as interim Project Company Contract Manager, handling notices and interface management.
• Provide governance-level reporting to senior leadership.
• Support project development by reviewing term sheets and assessing risk allocations.

Contextual Overview

Terracotta Outsourcing is seeking a highly experienced Head of Contracts & Claims for a long-term consulting assignment based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role supports a leading organization within the power and energy infrastructure sector, focusing on strategic contract management, governance, and commercial support for major capital projects through August 2027.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 15+ years in contract management within large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
• Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of FIDIC contracts, claims management, variations, and dispute resolution.
• Preferred Background: Experience representing the Owner, Developer, Sponsor, or Project Company is highly preferred.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Oversee contract management frameworks and contractual performance for a portfolio of major infrastructure projects.
• Review, assess, and challenge EPC contractor claims and dispute strategies.
• Act as the interim Project Company Contract Manager, handling contractual notices, correspondence, and interface management.
• Provide contractual advice and governance-level reporting to senior leadership.
• Support project development by reviewing EPC term sheets and assessing contractual risk allocation (e.g., LDs, Force Majeure, and performance risk).
