Job summary

NMDC Group is seeking a Steward for a Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger in the United Arab Emirates. You will maintain galley cleanliness, assist in food preparation, and ensure sanitation and safety aboard the vessel.

Responsibilities include serving meals, cleaning cabins, storing provisions, and supporting the Cook and crew under Master or Chief Officer supervision. Relevant STCW and food safety certifications are required.

Qualifications

• STCW training certification is required.
• Food safety & hygiene certification is required.
• Valid medical fitness certificate as per ILO/MLC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of galley, kitchen, mess rooms, and vessel accommodation.
• Assist Cook with food preparation, meal service, and galley activities.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, worktops, utensils, and prep areas.
• Wash dishes, cutlery, and crockery and store after cleaning.
• Prepare and serve meals, tea, coffee, and refreshments to officers and crew.
• Clean crew cabins, change bed linen, and maintain accommodation areas.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of food items and provisions.
• Assist in receiving, checking, and storing food supplies and galley provisions.
• Monitor galley consumables and report shortages.
• Ensure proper hygiene, sanitation, and food safety in galley and mess areas.
• Collect and dispose of kitchen waste per vessel procedures and environmental rules.
• Maintain cleanliness of refrigerators, freezers, and food storage areas.
• Follow onboard HSE procedures and handle chemicals and galley equipment safely.
• Report defects or hygiene concerns to the responsible officer.
• Perform other duties related to galley, kitchen, and accommodation services as assigned.

• Clean crew cabins, change bed linen, and maintain accommodation areas in a tidy condition.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of food items and provisions.
• Assist in receiving, checking, and storing food supplies and galley provisions.
• Monitor galley consumables, cleaning materials, and accommodation supplies and report shortages.
• Ensure proper hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices are followed in the galley and mess areas.
• Collect and dispose of kitchen waste in accordance with vessel procedures and environmental requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness of refrigerators, freezers, dry stores, and other food storage areas.
• Follow onboard HSE procedures and handle cleaning chemicals and galley equipment safely.
• Report defects, maintenance requirements, or hygiene concerns in the galley and accommodation to the responsible officer.
• Perform other duties related to galley, kitchen, and accommodation services as assigned by the Master or Chief Officer.
