Job summary

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Pulpit Operator to oversee steel production from the central control room. You will operate rolling mills, furnaces, and casting machines via HMI/SCADA, tuning process parameters and coordinating with on-ground teams to maintain safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will monitor alarms, maintain records, support maintenance for repairs, and contribute to process improvements and energy optimization while delivering clear shift reports to the next

Qualifications

• Diploma in electrical certificates or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year experience; GCC experience is a plus.
• Experience in controlling industrial processes using HMI/SCADA.
• Knowledge of rolling, melting, casting, or finishing operations in a steel plant.
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP.

Responsibilities

• Operate rolling mills, furnaces, or casting machines from the pulpit via HMI/SCADA.
• Coordinate with on-ground personnel to ensure smooth production flow.
• Adjust process parameters to maintain efficiency and quality.
• Monitor alarms and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain records of parameters, output, downtime, and incidents.
• Diagnose minor equipment issues and coordinate with maintenance.
• Suggest process improvements and energy-saving opportunities.
• Provide shift reports and handover notes to next shift.
