Job summary

Waagner Biro Bridge Services in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is seeking a detail-oriented Steel Fixer to join our construction team. You will position, fix and verify reinforcement steel according to engineering drawings and UAE building codes, ensuring accuracy, safety and quality on site.

Ideal candidates have proven steel fixing experience, strong blueprint reading skills and familiarity with UAE safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Steel Fixer on construction projects.
• Proficient in reading construction drawings, blueprints and specs.
• Strong knowledge of steel fixing techniques and equipment.
• Familiarity with UAE construction codes and safety regulations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Physical ability for manual labor and working at heights.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong safety awareness and accident prevention.
• Ability to work well in a construction team.
• CAD experience is a plus for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Position and secure reinforcement steel bars and mesh in concrete formwork according to drawings and specifications.
• Interpret blueprints and technical docs to ensure correct steel placement.
• Tie and bind reinforcement to maintain structural alignment.
• Inspect steel placement for QA and compliance with UAE codes.
• Organize and manage steel materials on-site and ensure proper storage.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors and teams to coordinate fixing activities.
• Maintain records of completed work and material usage.
• Adhere to safety protocols and use PPE appropriately.
• Report potential safety hazards or structural concerns to supervisors.
• Perform quality checks to ensure design requirements are met before pouring concrete.
