Job summary

khetron facilities management in Abu Dhabi is seeking a skilled Steel Fixer to join our on-site construction team. You will read structural drawings, cut and bend steel, and tie rebar before concrete pours.

The ideal candidate is physically fit, detail-oriented, and committed to safety. Experience with rebar tools and working at heights is valued.

Qualifications

Experience: Proven work experience as a Steel Fixer or concrete reinforcement laborer.
Skills: Ability to read basic structural blueprints and comfortably handle rebar tools.
Physical Fitness: High physical stamina, strength, and the agility to bend, lift heavy materials, and work outdoors.
Environment: Comfort working at elevated heights and in tight or cramped spaces.
Education: A high school diploma or vocational trade certificate in steel fixing/construction is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret building blueprints and structural engineering drawings.
Measure, cut, and bend steel reinforcement bars (rebar) and mesh using hand and power tools.
Layout and assemble steel frameworks, mesh grids, and pre-fabricated cages.
Fix and secure rebar sections together using tie wires, clips, or spot welding.
Install spacers and supports to ensure the steel remains in the correct position during concrete pouring.
Collaborate with concrete pourers, formwork carpenters, and supervisors to keep the project on schedule.
Adhere strictly to site safety regulations, especially when working at heights or in confined spaces.
