Job summary

talabat is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to influence multiple levels: team domain, chapter, and the wider Tech org. You mentor engineers, drive large initiatives, optimize architecture, and champion RFC-driven improvements across the platform.

You’ll partner with Engineering, Product and Data peers to remove bottlenecks and elevate developer experience. You will own end-to-end area ownership, propagate best practices, and help teams explore better ways to build scalable products while

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in Extreme Programming environments (TDD, Pair Programming, Simple Design, Continuous Refactoring).
• Expert in Distributed Systems Architecture (Microservices, Event-Driven, RESTful Services).
• Proficient in automated end-to-end testing and modern programming languages.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases and cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Experience applying trunk-based development and continuous delivery practices.
