We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer in Dubai for a major digital technology organisation. This senior hands-on IC role focuses on architecture, delivery, and scaling of large-scale backend systems across multiple markets.

You will influence engineering standards and drive multi-team initiatives while adopting GenAI tooling in engineering workflows. You will architect and develop scalable backend services with Java/Spring, design distributed systems, and mentor engineers across teams,

• Working with Kafka for asynchronous processing
• Building and scaling cloud-native applications across Azure, AWS or GCP
• Working with Docker Kubernetes OpenShift and CI/CD
• Solving performance, scalability, and production engineering challenges
• Creating shared frameworks, libraries and engineering standards
• Mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards across teams
• Introducing LLMs and GenAI tooling into engineering workflows (code generation, testing, documentation, log analysis, code review)

We re hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join a major digital technology organisation in Dubai working on large-scale platforms used across multiple markets This is a senior hands-on individual contributor position for an engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical problems designing scalable systems and influencing engineering standards across multiple teams You ll work within a substantial engineering environment taking ownership of architecture and delivery across complex backend and distributed systems while helping shape how modern AI and GenAI tooling is adopted across the engineering organisation

What you ll be doing

• Architecting and developing scalable backend services using Java Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
• Designing highly available resilient microservices and distributed systems
• Leading system design and architecture discussions across engineering teams
• Taking ownership of complex multi-team technical initiatives
• Working with Kafka asynchronous processing caching and event-driven architectures
• Building and scaling cloud-native applications across Azure AWS or GCP
• Working with Docker Kubernetes OpenShift and CI CD
• Solving complex performance scalability and production engineering challenges
• Creating shared frameworks libraries and engineering standards
• Mentoring experienced engineers and raising engineering standards across teams
• Helping introduce LLMs and GenAI tooling into engineering workflows including code generation testing documentation log analysis and code review

What we re looking for

• You ll ideally have 10+ years of backend software engineering experience , with deep expertise in Java and modern distributed architectures
• Strong experience across:Java / J2EESpring / Spring Boot / Spring CloudMicroservices and distributed systemsKafka / JMS / asynchronous architecturesDocker and Kubernetes/OpenShiftCloud platforms Azure, AWS or GCPCI/CD and modern engineering practicesSQL and NoSQL databasesHigh-performance and highly available systems
• Experience using LLMs, GenAI or AI-assisted development tools to improve software engineering productivity would be a significant advantage
• We re particularly interested in engineers who remain highly hands-on technically but operate beyond the boundaries of a single team influencing architecture, mentoring engineers and taking ownership of major engineering initiatives
