Job summary

We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer in Dubai for a major digital technology organisation. This senior hands-on IC role focuses on architecture, delivery, and scaling of large-scale backend systems across multiple markets.

You will influence engineering standards and drive multi-team initiatives while adopting GenAI tooling in engineering workflows. You will architect and develop scalable backend services with Java/Spring, design distributed systems, and mentor engineers across teams,

Qualifications

10+ years backend software engineering experience with Java

Responsibilities

Architecting and developing scalable backend services using Java Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
Designing highly available resilient microservices and distributed systems
Leading system design and architecture discussions across engineering teams
Taking ownership of complex multi-team technical initiatives
Working with Kafka for asynchronous processing
Building and scaling cloud-native applications across Azure, AWS or GCP
Working with Docker Kubernetes OpenShift and CI/CD
Solving performance, scalability, and production engineering challenges
Creating shared frameworks, libraries and engineering standards
Mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards across teams
Introducing LLMs and GenAI tooling into engineering workflows (code generation, testing, documentation, log analysis, code review)
