Job summary

GitLab seeks a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer for the EMEA region. You will work with strategic customers to drive AI adoption, diagnose blockers, and contribute high-quality code to GitLab’s product.

You’ll collaborate across Product, Engineering, SRE, and Professional Services to deliver durable, reusable solutions while guiding customers through complex adoption patterns and governance considerations.

Qualifications

• Staff-level experience building or improving complex production software.
• Strong coding in Ruby on Rails or Go with production-grade quality.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and governance.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute production-quality code to GitLab’s product and adjacent systems.
• Diagnose adoption blockers, propose durable product improvements and reference architectures.
• Work across Product, Engineering, SRE, Support, SA, CSA, CSM, and Professional Services.
• Develop patterns for AI adoption and agentic SDLC with reusable guidance.
