Job summary

Responsibilities

• Develop and audit financial models for international power, desalination and renewables projects.
• Perform due diligence, risk analysis and financing structuring (debt/equity/guarantees).
• Coordinate with credit, legal, and management through internal approvals and boards.
• Ensure legal documentation is in place and financial close is timely.
• Model Power Purchase Agreements and support project financing and M&A with investors/lenders.

Overview

This role will lead the financial analysis and modeling for power, desalination and renewable development projects across the globe. It will support several project finance and M&A transactions each year with the goal of developing into a deal.

This role will lead the financial analysis and modeling for power, desalination and renewable development projects across the globe. It will support several project finance and M&A transactions each year with the goal of developing into a deal.

Job Functions (duties & Responsibilities)

• Develop and audit complex financial models of international standards, with relevant accounting and taxation practices
• Perform the necessary due diligence, risk analysis and mitigation strategies in the structuring of debt, equity, guarantees or other forms of financing
• Engage in the internal approvals process which may include interface with different teams such as credit, integrity, legal and other teams as well as the management and the board
• Ensure appropriate legal documentation is in place for all deals and that financial close is achieved in a timely fashion
• Perform financial modeling of power, desalination, industrial wastewater treatment, renewable development opportunities.
• Support structuring of Power Purchase Agreements with potential offtake customers.
• Support project financing and M&A transactions with 3rd party investors, lenders and/or tax equity providers.
• Collaborate effectively with the Development, Organization, EPC, and Interconnection teams.
• Provide strategic financial, Power including renewable energy Desalination and market analysis as needed
• Review project documents to assess their commercial and contractual implications, specifically for project financing structures.
• Maintain and share knowledge on the executed projects and emerging best practices in the industry
• Review all contract documentation to understand the requirements in a deal
• Work on optimizing the tax structure of the projects and reviewing and implementing in the model any accounting and tax related requirements
• Perform financial analysis on projects
• Engage with the banks to support financing relationships and negotiations

Qualifications & Skillsets

• Graduate degree with a focus in finance, economics, or another quantitative field
• At least 7 + years of work experience supporting the energy, water and renewable industry in a financial modeling and transactional role.
• Previous experience working for a leading IPP, utility, renewable developer, or investment bank preferably in MENA region
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
