Job summary

Starwalkers is seeking a DHA licensed Pediatric Speech Language Therapist to join our on-site team in Dubai. The role focuses on assessing, diagnosing, and supporting speech, language, and communication needs in children, with emphasis on neurodiversity-affirming practices.

You will collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to develop individualized therapy plans, participate in care-plans meetings, and contribute to parent trainings and webinars.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Familiarity with the neurodiversity paradigm preferred or willingness to learn.
• DHA license or eligibility to obtain DHA licensure in Dubai.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Speech Language Pathologist based in Dubai. The primary responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, and supporting speech, language, and communication needs in children. Additionally, the role involves creating individualized therapy plans, collaborating with parents and caregivers to provide trainings, and applying ND Affining approaches. The Speech Language Pathologist will contribute to a supportive, neurodiversity-affirming environment, ensuring each client's strengths and needs are prioritized. Job Description:

• Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapist: Must be familiar with―and practice from―the Neurodiversity paradigm, OR be ready to learn about the same
• Formal and Informal Assessments: Provide assessments, and work with individuals, families, and professionals involved with the client to utilize strategies to aid in maximizing performance and executive functioning
• Strength Based Approach: Use strength based approach while focusing on emotional & sensory regulation rather than compliance / sitting tolerance
• Co-therapy: Work closely with a Occupational Therapist as a part of the co-treatment plan
• Documentation: Document all the details and generate official reports of the client in the format provided to you by Starwalkers
• Meetings: Participate in Individualized Care Plan meetings, review existing data, and form team meetings
• Resources & Programs: Be a part of resource development and webinars conducted by Starwalkers to coach parents about communication area

Please note that at least the first 2-3 weeks will be extensive training with video calls and personal reading of a few hours about Neurodiversity paradigm, Natural Language Acquisition in Gestalt Language Processors and other areas that we would want the therapist to be confident about while working with Autistic children and their families. Qualifications:

• Bachelor's / Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Speech Language Pathology
