Job summary

DrExpat is seeking a Specialist Plastic and Burn Surgeon for a tertiary hospital in Al Ain. The role involves diagnosing and managing acute burns, complex wounds, and reconstructive needs within a multidisciplinary team to optimise recovery and functional outcomes.

You will lead burn reconstruction, skin grafting, and postoperative care while contributing to governance and continuous improvement in a high-quality surgical environment. UAE licensing and Arabic language skills are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree MBBS or equivalent from a recognised institution.
• Recognised Specialist qualification in Plastic Surgery meeting UAE licensing requirements.
• Fellowship or substantial experience in Burn Surgery.
• Minimum 3 years of post-specialisation experience.
• Eligible for DOH Specialist Licence.
• Arabic language skills are an advantage.
• Experience in tertiary pediatric hospitals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage acute burn injuries and complex wounds.
• Perform burn reconstruction and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures.
• Carry out skin grafting and wound closure techniques.
• Develop personalised treatment and rehabilitation plans.
• Manage inpatient and outpatient plastic and burn surgery cases.
• Provide post-operative care and long-term follow-up.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary trauma and burn care teams.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with DOH regulations.
• Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated with advances in burn management and reconstructive surgery.

Role Overview

As a Specialist Plastic amp Burn Surgeon you will diagnose and manage patients with acute burns complex wounds and reconstructive surgical needs while delivering high-quality surgical care using evidence-based techniques You will collaborate with emergency physicians intensivists pediatric specialists anesthesiologists rehabilitation teams and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to optimise patient recovery and long-term functional outcomes
