The Specialist Pediatric Neurologist will assess and manage children with disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, muscles, and neurodevelopment. The position requires careful neurological examination, interpretation of diagnostic investigations, individualized therapy selection, and structured monitoring as children grow and their clinical needs evolve. The specialist will work closely with pediatricians, neurosurgeons, rehabilitation teams, psychologists, geneticists, radiologists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals. This coordinated approach will support accurate diagnosis, symptom control, developmental progress, functional improvement, and informed decision-making for families managing complex neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage neurological disorders affecting infants, children, and adolescents.
• Evaluate epilepsy and seizure disorders and develop individualized long-term treatment strategies.
• Assess children presenting with developmental delay and determine appropriate neurological investigations and follow-up.
• Manage cerebral palsy and associated neurological complications in coordination with rehabilitation services.
• Diagnose and monitor pediatric neuromuscular disorders affecting muscle strength, movement, or peripheral nerve function.
• Evaluate recurrent and complex pediatric headaches and identify conditions requiring further neurological investigation.
• Manage movement disorders using appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
• Assess neurogenetic conditions and coordinate genetic investigations when inherited neurological disease is suspected.
• Conduct comprehensive neurological examinations tailored to the child 's age, developmental stage, and presenting symptoms.
• Develop individualized medical and long-term management plans based on diagnosis, severity, functional impact, and treatment response.
• Interpret EEG studies and incorporate findings into epilepsy diagnosis and management.
• Review MRI and CT imaging in collaboration with radiology teams when evaluating structural or developmental neurological abnormalities.
• Interpret EMG and nerve conduction study findings where relevant to peripheral nerve or neuromuscular disease.
• Review laboratory investigations and other diagnostic results when managing complex neurological presentations.
• Provide specialist inpatient consultation for acute neurological conditions and hospitalized pediatric patients.
• Conduct outpatient follow-up for chronic epilepsy, developmental disorders, neuromuscular disease, and other long-term conditions.
• Monitor medication effectiveness, adverse effects, disease progression, and functional outcomes.
• Coordinate complex cases with neurosurgery, rehabilitation, psychology, genetics, radiology, and other pediatric specialties.
• Counsel parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, prognosis, treatment options, medication, rehabilitation, and continuing care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with DHA regulations and organizational requirements.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement activities, departmental meetings, and continuing medical education.
• Follow DHA standards, international clinical guidelines, ethical requirements, and established patient-safety protocols.

Ideal Profile

The successful candidate will hold an MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution and will have completed an accredited Pediatric residency program. Fellowship training or another recognized subspecialty qualification in Pediatric Neurology is required together with Board Certification or an equivalent specialist credential recognized by the Dubai Health Authority. Applicants should hold a valid DHA License or DHA Eligibility Letter as a Specialist Pediatric Neurologist and bring at least 3-5 years of post-specialization experience in pediatric neurology. Turkish Board Certification or specialist training completed in Turkey is preferred, and Turkish-speaking physicians are highly desirable. Experience gained within a tertiary-care or internationally accredited hospital will also be valuable. Strong expertise in epilepsy, neurodevelopmental conditions, complex neurological disease, and advanced diagnostic interpretation is expected.
