Overview
Specialist Pediatric Neurologist in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This role requires strong pediatric neurology expertise, DHA eligibility or licensing, and the ability to deliver evidence-based neurological care for children with epilepsy, developmental delays, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders, headaches, movement disorders, and complex neurodevelopmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage pediatric neurological disorders including epilepsy, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders, headaches, movement disorders, neurogenetic conditions, and central or peripheral nervous system diseases.
- Conduct detailed neurological assessments for infants, children, and adolescents using clinical history, examination findings, developmental evaluation, and diagnostic evidence.
- Prepare individualized treatment plans that support short‑term symptom control, long‑term neurological development, and family‑centered care.
- Review and interpret EEG, MRI, CT scans, EMG, nerve conduction studies where applicable, and relevant laboratory findings.
- Manage acute and chronic neurological conditions across outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, and referral‑based pediatric services.
- Provide specialist input for children with seizures, developmental regression, abnormal movements, muscle weakness, neurobehavioral concerns, and complex neurological presentations.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, neurosurgeons, rehabilitation physicians, psychologists, geneticists, radiologists, nurses, therapists, and allied health professionals.
- Counsel parents and caregivers on diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, medication use, warning signs, therapy plans, and follow‑up requirements.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, consultation notes, diagnostic interpretations, treatment plans, and progress records in line with DHA regulations and organizational standards.
- Participate in case reviews, departmental meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement work, and continuing medical education activities.
- Follow DHA standards, international pediatric neurology guidelines, patient safety requirements, and ethical clinical practice at all times.
- Support a compassionate care environment where children and families receive clear communication, reassurance, and practical guidance.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Completion of an accredited Pediatric residency program.
- Fellowship, subspecialty training, or recognized qualification in Pediatric Neurology.
- Board Certification or equivalent specialist qualification accepted by the Dubai Health Authority.
- DHA Eligibility Letter or valid DHA License as a Specialist Pediatric Neurologist.
- Minimum 3‑5 years of post‑specialization experience in Pediatric Neurology.
- Strong clinical experience in diagnosing and managing childhood epilepsy, neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy, headaches, neuromuscular conditions, and movement disorders.
- Ability to manage pediatric neurology patients in both outpatient and inpatient healthcare settings.
- Turkish Board Certification or specialist training from Turkey preferred; Turkish‑speaking physicians highly preferred.
- Previous experience in a tertiary care hospital or internationally accredited healthcare facility an advantage.
- Strong communication skills with children, parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
