Job summary

NMC in Abu Dhabi region seeks an experienced neurologist to deliver comprehensive, ethical, and efficient clinical services to patients, with privileges approved by the Credential Committee for OPD and IP care.

The role includes overseeing EEG/EMG labs, on-call coverage, and active participation in ongoing professional development, clinical governance, and patient safety initiatives within a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• To perform the duties of a neurologist in accordance with privileges approved by the Credential Committee in OPD and IP.
• Oversee operation of the neurodiagnostic laboratory (EEG, EMG) and train technicians as needed.
• Provide on-call emergency coverage for neurologic emergencies.
• Participate in monthly educational conferences.
• Support continuous quality improvement and promote standards of care.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with department staff, associates and management.
• Lead others to develop willingness to work toward common objectives.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure governance and quality standards.

Specific Responsibilities for this Role

• To perform the duties of a neurologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges as approved by the Credential Committee both in the OPD and IP.
• To oversee the operation of the neurodiagnostic laboratory (EEG, EMG) including the on-going training of the technicians if and when needed.
• Provides on-call emergency coverage for neurologic emergencies.
• Participates in the monthly educational conferences.
• Supports continuous Quality improvement. Develops and promotes appropriate standards of care.
• Exercises effective interpersonal skills in dealings with department staff, with associates and with management..
• Evidences leadership skills in developing in others the willingness and desire to work toward common objectives.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding patient information and regarding administrative matters of a confidential nature.
• Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
• Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect for them.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Medical Director.
• Provide a comprehensive professional and ethical quality clinical services to patients in an effective and efficient manner.

Specific:

• Ensuring safe manual handling safe practices techniques, during diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures.
• Handles all consumables and instruments with utmost care and follows safety, infection control and prevention protocols.
• Ensure to wear and use the appropriate protective equipment as per practice.
• Assist customers in identifying workplace hazards, which affect health.
• Provide expert advice on products, premises and processes, which may affect health and safety at work.
• Assist in identifying areas for health improvement, to improve staff health, staff performance and patient care.
• Ensure accurate, appropriate and timely implementation of relevant legislation, national standards and directives – e.g. FANR, DOH OSHMS.

BCP ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
