NMC in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced physician to deliver high-quality emergency care, maintain patient safety, and uphold governance and quality standards. You will oversee urgent cases, coordinate with ER staff, and ensure continuous professional development while maintaining complete medical records.
Responsibilities include rapid assessment, treatment, team leadership, and timely referrals to specialists, with emphasis on patient stabilization and compliant discharge planning.
The role involves delivering professional, ethical, and high-quality clinical care, managing clinical risks, ensuring compliance with governance standards, and maintaining accurate medical records. It also emphasizes continuous professional development and maintaining integrity in providing ethical, responsible clinical services.
Physician will maintain an active Privileges as per the specialty that is consistent with the scope of services and the required experiences to practice it, which is renewable every 2 years.
Assess patients that enters the emergency room immediately and oversee emergency patients' recovery
Assesses a patient's condition to determine the severity of the problem.
Physicians speak with patients to elicit their medical history and learn the details of a patient's ailments.
Develop effective patient care plans.
Refers patients to the appropriate specialist.
Ensure that the patient is stable before transferring them to the proper department for further evaluation.
Coordinate with different ER department staffs to ensure patients receive the necessary treatment.
Carry out immediate evaluation and management of emergency patients that are brought in for treatment.
They perform physical examinations to diagnose and treat patients.
Refer patients to a specialist, such as a surgeon, as necessary.
Often works as part of a team of specialists, nurses, nursing assistants and aides who each perform a defined role when a patient comes to the emergency room.
Often leads the team and provides instructions and direction to other team members regarding the specific actions to take with a patient.
Taking whatever steps are necessary to stabilize the patient for transport to another area of the hospital or transport to another hospital.
Keep patients informed about their conditions and treatment. They also speak with a patient's family to update them on a patient's diagnosis and prognosis.
Refer patients to another doctor for ongoing care once they've completed their diagnosis and administered initial treatment
Analyze the medical history and records of the patients and plan the best procedure for treatment, taking in to account the allergies and medical condition of the patient.
Prescribes or administers medication, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
Interacts with patient to gather additional history and information about medical condition
Explains procedures and discusses test results or prescribed treatments with patient
Provides specific treatments and/or performs operations to treat patient medical conditions
Responsible to carry out necessary duties to ensure the best and most cost-effective treatment of patients.
To contribute to the development of Clinical Quality Standards.
Participate in the in-service education programme and comply with mandatory training requirements, inclusive of CPR, Health & Safety Training and Fire Safety.
To ensure ongoing medical competence by participating in the annual relicensing and recertification schemes in United Arab Emirates.
To maintain and develop professional expertise through self-directed learning and continuous professional development.
At least 3 - 5 years’ post qualification experience at Specialist level (independent of country)
At least 1 year Specialist level experience from a Tier 1 country as specified by the UAE healthcare regulator.
Basic medical degree and completion of a specialty qualification/education programme (fellowship/diploma) recognised by the relevant UAE healthcare authority.
Certification and registration in a speciality recognised by relevant UAE healthcare authority. Active and valid life support certification (e.g. BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP)
