Job summary

Astra ProMed in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Specialist Interventional Cardiologist to join its cardiology department. You will diagnose, manage cardiovascular diseases, and perform advanced catheter-based interventions, delivering high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate holds MBBS/MBChB with postgraduate Cardiology, interventional fellowship, and DOH Abu Dhabi license. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, ensure patient safety, and participate in audits and continuing professional

Qualifications

• MBBS/MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
• Postgraduate specialization in Cardiology required.
• Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology or equivalent subspecialty training.
• DOH Abu Dhabi license or eligibility.
• Post-specialization interventional cardiology experience.
• Proficiency in coronary angiography and PCI.
• Strong clinical judgment and emergency cardiac management.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions, including CAD, ACS, and IHD.
• Perform diagnostic coronary angiography and PCI with stents.
• Assess patients for interventional procedures and plan treatment.
• Manage STEMI and other ACS emergencies.
• Conduct catheterization with advanced imaging and interventional techniques.
• Provide pre- and post-procedure care and manage complications.
• Interpret ECGs, echocardiography and imaging.
• Collaborate with cardiology and surgical teams.
• Counsel patients on conditions, options, risks.
• Ensure DOH Abu Dhabi regulations and lab protocols.
• Maintain documentation and participate in audits and CPD.

We're Hiring | Specialist Interventional Cardiologist

Location: Abu Dhabi

Employment Type: Full-Time

A leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Specialist Interventional Cardiologist to join its cardiology department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and managing cardiovascular diseases, performing advanced catheter-based cardiac interventions, and delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, acute coronary syndromes, and ischemic heart disease.

2. Perform diagnostic coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), including balloon angioplasty and stent placement.

3. Assess patients for interventional cardiac procedures and develop individualized treatment plans.

4. Manage acute cardiac emergencies, including ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and other acute coronary syndromes.

5. Perform cardiac catheterization procedures using advanced imaging and interventional techniques.

6. Provide comprehensive pre-procedure and post-procedure care, including management of complications.

7. Interpret ECGs, echocardiography reports, cardiac imaging, and other cardiovascular investigations.

8. Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

9. Counsel patients and families regarding cardiac conditions, treatment options, procedural risks, and preventive care.

10. Ensure compliance with DOH Abu Dhabi regulations, cardiac catheterization laboratory protocols, and patient safety standards.

11. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements

• MBBS/MBChB or equivalent recognized medical qualification.

• Recognized postgraduate specialization in Cardiology.

• Fellowship or equivalent recognized subspecialty training in Interventional Cardiology.

• Valid DOH Abu Dhabi License or Eligibility, or eligibility to obtain one under the applicable UAE PQR requirements.

• Relevant post-specialization and interventional cardiology experience meeting the requirements for the Specialist title.

• Demonstrated proficiency in coronary angiography, PCI, and catheter-based cardiovascular interventions.

• Strong clinical judgment, procedural skills, and emergency cardiac management capabilities.
