Job summary

Astra Promed FZC in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Specialist Critical Care physician to join its ICU. The role focuses on managing critically ill patients, providing advanced life-support, and ensuring evidence-based care in a multidisciplinary team.

The candidate will work under DOH Abu Dhabi regulations, collaborate with intensivists and surgeons, and contribute to continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• MBBS/MBChB or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
• Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Medicine or related specialty with critical care training.
• Board certification or fellowship in Critical Care Medicine.
• Valid DOH Abu Dhabi License or Eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage critically ill patients with complex conditions.
• Provide advanced critical care including ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and organ support.
• Handle respiratory failure, sepsis, shock, and multiorgan dysfunction.
• Perform ICU procedures such as intubation and central venous catheterization.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor progress.

A leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Specialist Critical Care physician to join its Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing critically ill patients, providing advanced life-support interventions, and ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care in a multidisciplinary critical care environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients with complex and life-threatening medical conditions.

2. Provide advanced critical care management, including mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and organ support.

3. Manage patients experiencing respiratory failure, sepsis, shock, multiorgan dysfunction, and other critical conditions.

4. Perform essential ICU procedures, including endotracheal intubation, central venous catheterization, and arterial line insertion, within approved clinical privileges.

5. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for critically ill patients.

6. Monitor patient progress, interpret diagnostic investigations, and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.

7. Respond promptly to medical emergencies, cardiac arrests, and rapid response situations.

8. Collaborate with intensivists, anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.

9. Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding clinical conditions, treatment plans, and prognosis.

10. Ensure compliance with DOH Abu Dhabi regulations, infection control protocols, and patient safety standards.

11. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements

• MBBS/MBChB or equivalent recognized medical qualification.

• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Medicine or an approved related specialty with appropriate critical care training.

• Board certification, fellowship, or equivalent recognized specialization in Critical Care Medicine.

• Valid DOH Abu Dhabi License or Eligibility, or eligibility to obtain one.

• Relevant post-qualification clinical experience meeting UAE PQR requirements for the Specialist title.

• Proficiency in mechanical ventilation, advanced life support, and ICU management.

• Strong clinical decision-making, emergency management, and communication skills.
