Job summary

ADNOC in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Drilling Operations Lead to set and manage lump-sum turnkey campaign scope and supervise the Biogenic Shallow Gas program. You will coordinate drilling, testing activities, and related cost control to align with plan and schedule.

The role requires 8+ years in drilling/workover engineering, offshore/offshore experience, and familiarity with Landmark and drilling software. Strong leadership and planning skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of drilling/workover engineering and operations experience.
• Experience with OPCOs; UAE experience preferred.
• Experience in offshore rig activities and office-based planning.

Responsibilities

• Set and manage Lump Sum Turnkey campaign scope of work and related activities.
• Lead Drilling Integrated Project Management teams to execute ADNOC Exploration Biogenic Gas wells.
• Endorse and approve drilling programs, well plans, and AFEs.
• Define Full Field Development Plans and exploration requirements with engineers and PET techs.
• Ensure adherence to HSE policies and company standards across drilling operations.

Job description

Job Purpose

Set and manage Lump sum turnkey campaign Scope of Work with all related activities and manage unconventional drilling and testing activities (UBD, MLT, and multi stage frac.) Manage project cost control and rig schedule.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

. Report and update with the Drilling and well operations activities related to the Biogenic Shallow Gas project to ensure conformity with plan and program.
. Lead and direct the Drilling Integrated Project Management teams of the assigned service companies to execute ADNOC Exploration Biogenic Gas wells in line with the plans.
. Endorse and approve the Drilling programs, well plans provided by the LSTK/IPM teams and endorse and approve the AFE for the subjected wells.
. Define the Full Field Development Plans and the exploration requirements through working closely with the Petroleum Engineers, Reservoir Engineers and Petrophysicists.
. Advises as necessary the Exploration Function in all drilling related matters in terms of planning, well prognosis and technical requirements.

. Provide input for preparation of the Function / Division / Department / Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver business objectives.
. Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

. Implement approved Function/ Division/ Department/ Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.

. Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function/ Division / Department/ Section in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
. Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
. Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
. Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Reports
. Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Internal Communications & Working Relationships

. Daily contacts with members in Exploration and Drilling
. Frequent Contacts with other upstream Divisions in respect to drilling operations.
. Frequent contacts with JVs, OPCOs, ADNOC Drilling and SPC's drilling staff to discuss the daily operations.
. Frequent contacts with drilling service providers and rig equipment manufacturers

External Communications & Working Relationships

Regular contact with external drilling service providers

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum /Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

. Minimum 8 years related experience in Drilling / Workover Engineering and Operations.
. Previous experience with the OPCOs, preferred in UAE.
. Experience preferably both from rig activities both from offshore and from the office.
. Experience in Drilling new technologies (UBD, MPD,CTD , and ERD)
. Professional user of any drilling software, Landmark package is preferred.
. Experience in business planning (Wells and Drilling Operations).
. Proven track of leading drilling teams either operations or engineering
