Job summary

Worley is seeking a Lead Interface Engineer – Drilling for offshore projects in Abu Dhabi. You will coordinate interfaces across drilling, completion, workover and abandonment activities and ensure safe, timely execution in line with approved programs and HSE standards.

The role requires extensive experience in offshore drilling and interface leadership, with GCC exposure and PMC/FEED/EPC familiarity. Strong coordination and stakeholder-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industries.
• Minimum 5 years in GCC region in similar roles.
• Experience leading interface/drilling/well operations on major offshore projects.
• ADNOC & Offshore project experience preferred; PMC experience required.

• Ensure drilling and operations align with approved programs, schedules, budgets and HSE requirements.

Job Purpose

The Lead Interface Engineer – Drilling is responsible for managing and coordinating all technical, operational and organizational interfaces associated with drilling, completion, workover and well abandonment activities. The role acts as the key interface between Drilling & Wells, offshore operations, engineering, projects, construction, production, contractors, service companies and other stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient and timely execution of well activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate interfaces between drilling operations, offshore facilities, engineering, construction, production and project teams.
  Provide engineering and operational support for the planning, preparation and execution of drilling, completion, workover and abandonment activities.
• Ensure drilling and well operations are executed in accordance with approved programs, schedules, budgets, HSE requirements and Company procedures.
• Coordinate rig requirements, offshore manpower, equipment, materials, marine/logistics support and service-company activities.
• Identify interface requirements, constraints and potential conflicts and ensure timely resolution to avoid delays to drilling operations.
• Develop, maintain and monitor Interface Registers, Interface Requests, action trackers and interface agreements.
• Coordinate SIMOPS and interfaces between drilling rigs, offshore facilities, construction activities and production operations.
• Facilitate interface meetings with Company, drilling contractors, EPC contractors, service companies and other stakeholders and follow up actions through closure.
• Ensure timely availability of drilling equipment, materials, services and logistics support to prevent operational downtime.
• Monitor contractor and service-company performance and ensure compliance with contractual and operational requirements.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS and other risk assessments and ensure interface-related actions are closed before execution.
• Monitor drilling progress, operational constraints, interface risks and critical dependencies and elevate potential impacts to management.
• Support resolution of technical and operational issues arising during drilling and offshore execution.
• Coordinate with Project Controls and planning teams regarding drilling schedules, milestones, shutdowns, tie-ins and interface dependencies.
• Promote compliance with Company HSE Management Systems, ADNOC requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Prepare interface reports and provide regular updates to Project/Drilling Management on critical issues, risks and actions.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• A bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university, with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, including a minimum of five (5) years (preferred) in the GCC region.
• Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position on major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing a team of Specialists, Senior Engineers, and Engineers.
• ADNOC & Offshore project experience is preferred
• PMC experiences is required
• Experience in FEED & EPC Phases is required.
• Strong experience in offshore drilling, completion, workover and/or well abandonment activities.
• Previous experience in a Lead Interface / Drilling / Well Operations role on major offshore projects.
• ADNOC/PMC experience and Middle East offshore experience are highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of drilling operations, offshore facilities, SIMOPS, rig operations, logistics and HSE requirements.
• Excellent coordination, leadership, communication, stakeholder-management and problem-solving skills.
