Job summary

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) seeks an experienced Drilling/Workover Engineer to lead integrated project teams and manage campaign scopes in Biogenic Gas exploration. You will oversee programs, budgets, and development plans, coordinating with engineers and partners to ensure safe, cost-effective execution.

The role requires eight years in drilling/operations, UAE OPCO exposure, and proficiency with drilling software such as Landmark.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum /Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years related experience in Drilling / Workover Engineering and Operations.
• Experience with OPCOs, preferably in UAE.
• Experience offshore and onshore drilling environments.
• Experience in drilling new technologies (UBD, MPD, CTD, ERD).
• Proficient user of drilling software; Landmark package preferred.
• Experience in business planning (Wells and Drilling Operations).
• Proven track record of leading drilling teams in operations or engineering.

Responsibilities

• Report and update drilling and well operations activities related to Biogenic Shallow Gas project.
• Lead and direct Drilling IPM teams to execute ADNOC Exploration Biogenic Gas wells.
• Endorse and approve drilling programs and AFEs.
• Define Full Field Development Plans and exploration requirements.
• Advise Exploration on drilling planning, prognosis and technical requirements.
• Plan, supervise and coordinate activities in the assigned area.
• Train and develop staff to deliver objectives.
• Assist in budget input and cost control; highlight variances.

Job Purpose

Set and manage Lump sum turnkey campaign Scope of Work with all related activities and manage unconventional drilling and testing activities (UBD, MLT, and multi stage frac.) Manage project cost control and rig schedule.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

• Report and update with the Drilling and well operations activities related to the Biogenic Shallow Gas project to ensure conformity with plan and program.
• Lead and direct the Drilling Integrated Project Management teams of the assigned service companies to execute ADNOC Exploration Biogenic Gas wells in line with the plans.
• Endorse and approve the Drilling programs, well plans provided by the LSTK/IPM teams and endorse and approve the AFE for the subjected wells.
• Define the Full Field Development Plans and the exploration requirements through working closely with the Petroleum Engineers, Reservoir Engineers and Petrophysicists.
• Advises as necessary the Exploration Function in all drilling related matters in terms of planning, well prognosis and technical requirements.

• Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

• Daily contacts with members in Exploration and Drilling
• Frequent Contacts with other upstream Divisions in respect to drilling operations.
• Frequent contacts with JVs, OPCOs, ADNOC Drilling and SPC’s drilling staff to discuss the daily operations.
• Frequent contacts with drilling service providers and rig equipment manufacturers

External Communications & Working Relationships

Regular contact with external drilling service providers

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum /Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Minimum 8 years related experience in Drilling / Workover Engineering and Operations.
• Previous experience with the OPCOs, preferred in UAE.
• Experience preferably both from rig activities both from offshore and from the office.
• Experience in Drilling new technologies (UBD, MPD,CTD , and ERD)
• Professional user of any drilling software, Landmark package is preferred.
