Job summary

A leading private hospital in the UAE is seeking an experienced Specialist / Consultant Ophthalmologist with American Board certification to diagnose and manage eye diseases, provide comprehensive ophthalmic care, and perform relevant procedures according to their specialty and clinical privileges.

You will diagnose and treat eye diseases, perform comprehensive eye examinations and interpret diagnostic investigations, and manage glaucoma, cataracts, retinal disorders, and corneal diseases.

Qualifications

• Board-certified ophthalmologist with extensive clinical competence.
• Proven postgraduate training and strong ophthalmology practice.
• Active registration and eligibility for UAE medical licensing.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat eye diseases and vision disorders.
• Perform comprehensive eye exams and interpret diagnostics.
• Manage glaucoma, cataracts, retinal and corneal diseases.
• Perform ophthalmic procedures and surgeries within privileges.
• Develop treatment plans with pre/postoperative care.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat eye diseases and vision disorders.
• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and interpret diagnostic investigations.
• Manage conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, retinal disorders, and corneal diseases.
• Perform ophthalmic procedures and surgeries within the scope of clinical privileges.
• Develop treatment plans and provide preoperative and postoperative care.
• Monitor patient progress and collaborate with other healthcare specialists.

• American Board certification in Ophthalmology or an equivalent recognized specialist qualification.
• Relevant postgraduate training and clinical experience in ophthalmology.
• Experience in ophthalmic diagnosis, treatment, and surgical procedures relevant to the position.
• Valid professional registration and Good Standing Certificate, where applicable.
• Eligibility for UAE healthcare licensing through DHA, DOH, or MOHAP, subject to the relevant authority’s assessment.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient-care skills.
