Job summary

InterContinental Abu Dhabi is seeking a Spa Therapist to deliver relaxing, personalized treatments and maintain the highest hygiene standards across all spa areas. You will be responsible for consultations, massages, body treatments, and ensuring guest comfort from arrival to departure.

Join the Recreation & Wellness team to provide exceptional service, coordinate with Spa Reception and other departments, and uphold IHG values in every guest interaction.

Qualifications

• Previous Spa Therapist or Massage Therapist experience in luxury hotel/spa environment.
• Professional qualification in massage therapy, beauty therapy, spa therapy, or related discipline.
• Practical knowledge of a variety of massage techniques and spa treatments.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

As a Spa Therapist, you will play an important role in creating a relaxing and personalized wellness experience for our guests. From understanding individual needs to delivering professional treatments, you will ensure every guest feels comfortable, cared for, and rejuvenated.

• Welcoming guests warmly and creating a calm, comfortable, and professional spa experience.
• Conducting guest consultations to understand individual needs, preferences, and any relevant considerations before treatments.
• Providing a range of professional spa treatments, including massages, body treatments, and other services offered by the spa.
• Explaining treatments and procedures clearly and recommending suitable services based on guest preferences.
• Preparing treatment rooms before each appointment and ensuring they are clean, comfortable, and fully equipped.
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and presentation across treatment rooms and spa areas.
• Ensuring all equipment, linen, products, and supplies are prepared and handled correctly.
• Providing personalized service while respecting guest privacy, comfort, and confidentiality at all times.
• Maintaining appropriate treatment records and guest preferences in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Ensuring treatments are delivered according to established protocols, service standards, and scheduled timings.
• Recommending appropriate spa treatments, wellness experiences, and retail products based on guest needs without compromising the guest experience.
• Maintaining good knowledge of spa services, products, packages, promotions, and hotel facilities.
• Monitoring spa product and supply levels and informing the appropriate colleague when replenishment is required.
• Responding professionally to guest feedback and communicating any concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Coordinating closely with Spa Reception, Recreation, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments when required.
• Following all health, safety, hygiene, sanitation, and spa operating procedures.
• Maintaining professional grooming and personal hygiene standards at all times.
• Demonstrating IHG values through warm, respectful, and professional interactions with guests and colleagues.

What we need from you:

• Previous experience as a Spa Therapist or Massage Therapist, preferably within a luxury hotel, resort, spa, or wellness environment.
• A recognized qualification or certification in massage therapy, beauty therapy, spa therapy, or a related discipline.
• Practical knowledge of a variety of massage techniques and spa treatments.
• Knowledge of body treatments, wellness therapies, and spa products would be an advantage.
• A warm, caring, and professional approach with a genuine passion for guest wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong awareness of guest privacy, comfort, and confidentiality.
• High standards of personal hygiene, grooming, and professional presentation.
• Good knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, health, and safety requirements within a spa environment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to personalize treatments according to guest needs.
• The ability to manage appointments efficiently while maintaining excellent service standards.
• A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Good command of English; additional languages would be an advantage.
• Any professional licence or certification required to perform spa treatments in the UAE would be an advantage.
