Job summary

InterContinental Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Recreation Receptionist to join our recreation team and deliver guest-focused service.

As the first point of contact for guests at the recreation facilities, you will provide information, handle enquiries and bookings with warmth and professionalism, while coordinating with hotel departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Receptionist, Recreation Receptionist, Guest Service Agent, or similar guest-facing hospitality role.
• Experience in hotel, resort, beach club, fitness club, or recreation environment is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, friendly, confident, and professional personality.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and guest service.
• Good organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple guest requests and enquiries efficiently.
• Proactive approach with ability to anticipate guest needs.
• Good computer skills and ability to learn hotel and recreation systems quickly.
• Professional appearance and grooming standards.
• Flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

As a Recreation Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for guests visiting our recreation facilities. You will create a warm welcome, provide accurate information about our facilities and services, and ensure guest enquiries, bookings, and requests are handled efficiently and professionally.

• Welcoming guests and members warmly and creating a positive first impression.
• Providing clear and accurate information about recreation facilities, operating hours, activities, services, and hotel offerings.
• Handling guest enquiries in person and over the telephone in a professional and friendly manner.
• Managing reservations and bookings for recreation facilities, activities, and services where applicable.
• Maintaining accurate records of guest and member access, bookings, and other relevant information.
• Assisting guests with registration procedures and explaining recreation guidelines and facility information.
• Recognizing returning guests and members and providing personalized service wherever possible.
• Anticipating guest needs and proactively offering assistance.
• Handling guest feedback and concerns professionally and escalating matters to the appropriate supervisor when required.
• Processing payments and maintaining accurate records in accordance with hotel procedures, where applicable.
• Maintaining the reception desk and surrounding guest areas in a clean, organized, and welcoming condition.
• Coordinating closely with Recreation Attendants, Lifeguards, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, Front Office, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of hotel facilities, restaurants, promotions, activities, and special events.
• Supporting the Recreation team with daily administrative requirements when needed.
• Following all health, safety, hygiene, security, and emergency procedures.
• Maintaining guest privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Maintaining professional grooming and presentation standards.
• Demonstrating IHG values through positive, genuine, and professional interactions with guests and colleagues.

What we need from you:

• Previous experience as a Receptionist, Recreation Receptionist, Guest Service Agent, or in a similar guest-facing hospitality role.
• Previous experience within a hotel, resort, beach club, fitness club, or recreation environment would be an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A warm, friendly, confident, and professional personality.
