Job summary

The Sonographer role at M42’s Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital involves performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations, ensuring high patient care, safety and diagnostic accuracy. You will work with Radiologists and multidisciplinary teams to support timely and precise diagnosis using advanced imaging technology.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Radiography or related field, 2+ years post-qualification sonography experience, a valid DOH/DHA license (or eligibility), and BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Radiography, Radiology Technology, or Diagnostic Imaging.
• Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in sonography.
• Valid DOH/DHA license (or DOH eligibility) as Sonographer.
• BLS certification (ACLS/PALS is an advantage).
• Strong knowledge of sonographic procedures, imaging protocols, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and patient interaction skills, with cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations including abdominal, obstetric, vascular, pediatric, and general studies.
• Prepare and position patients while ensuring comfort, safety, and clear communication throughout procedures.
• Operate and monitor ultrasound equipment and imaging systems (RIS/PACS) to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Collaborate with Radiologists and physicians to support accurate diagnosis and clinical outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records, reports, and imaging data in line with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure adherence to Department of Health (DOH) regulations, JCI standards, and internal quality and safety protocols.
• Assist in procedures requiring sterile techniques and provide support during specialized examinations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, quality assurance, and team development initiatives.
