Job summary

Wynn Al Marjan Island seeks a Sommelier-Steakhouse to join its Beverage team at the UAE resort. You will deliver world-class wine service, guide guests through our wine and beverage offerings, and contribute to memorable dining experiences.

In this role, you will train staff, manage cellar operations, participate in wine classes, and ensure impeccable service standards across shifts. Fluent English is required; additional languages are a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years wine service in fine dining or luxury hospitality.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Basic sommelier certification (WSET Level 2 or equivalent).
• Knowledge of wine list presentation and cellar maintenance.
• Familiar with POS systems and cash handling.
• Strong hygiene and allergen awareness.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner with eye contact and intention.
• Communicate guests’ needs to co-workers, kitchen staff, and management.
• Actively participate in and contribute to pre-shift meetings.
• Possess complete knowledge of all food menu items, specifications, and allergy information.
• Demonstrate mastery in understanding and communicating the wine list, beer list, and cocktail offerings.
• Form, grow, and maintain relationships with guests to encourage repeat business.
• Consistently follow the sequence of service using all procedures standardized by room management.
• Participate in regular beverage inventory checks, including wine, spirits, beers, mixers, glassware, and related service supplies.
• Update inventory locations and bin labels whenever wines are moved.
• Eliminate waste by monitoring pour levels and ensuring proper storage practices.
• Set up and train employees on wine service, beverage knowledge, and presentation.
• Periodically lead and host wine and beverage-related classes.

About Wynn Al Marjan Island

Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE. Set to open in 2027, the resort will be located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The resort will offer 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges, and bars, a theater, and a beach club. It will feature multiple swimming and wading pools, water features, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.

About The Position

Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking Sommelier-Steakhouse to join the resort's Beverage team.

About You

• Minimum age requirement is 21 years due to regulatory standards and alcohol service laws.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in wine service within a fine-dining or luxury hospitality setting.
• Basic sommelier certification (e.g., WSET Level 2 or equivalent) is preferred.
• Ability to assist in wine list presentation, inventory control, and cellar maintenance.
• Skilled in wine presentation, pouring techniques, and guest engagement.
• Familiarity with POS systems and handling cash or card transactions.
• Knowledge of beverage requisition, receiving, transfer, and inventory control systems is preferred.
• Good understanding of hygiene, food safety, sanitation, allergen awareness, and responsible beverage service standards.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.
• Flexible with work schedules and able to work in shifts based on business needs.
