Job summary

About The Job

An opportunity has arisen for a Sommelier to join the Shimmers team in Jumeirah Mina Al Salam . The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

• Oversee daily wine service, ensuring smooth coordination with the service team and enhancing guest experience through expert recommendations.
• Maintain proper wine stock levels, monitor rotation and storage, and minimize wastage from opened bottles.
• Communicate wine availability and actively contribute suggestions for updates to the wine list.
• Support team training by sharing product knowledge and participating in tastings and briefings.
• Assist with monthly inventories, report discrepancies, and ensure accurate temperature records for wine chillers.
• Uphold service standards during peak operations, including refills, pairings, and special requests.

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Two years of experience in the same role with a strong F&B background in a 5-star luxury property or a fine-dining standalone/branded restaurant.
• Proficient in English and a second language (European languages are desirable).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Micros, and Sevenrooms.
• Expert in Wine, WSET certification required.
• Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
