Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years UAE construction experience as a Site QS or QS.
  • Experience in main-contracting, subcontracting, civil or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of BOQ measurement, billing, variations, claims, and cost control.
  • Ability to interpret drawings (architectural, structural, MEP).
  • Familiarity with UAE standards, FIDIC contracts, and commercial procedures.
  • Proficient in Excel, AutoCAD, PlanSwift, CostX, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, BOQs, and tender documents.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and measurement sheets.
  • Conduct site visits and verify work against drawings and BOQ.
  • Submit interim payment apps, valuations, and final accounts.
  • Measure and certify subcontractor work and verify invoices.
  • Prepare variations, change orders, and cost claims.
  • Maintain records of site instructions, variations, and budgets.
  • Monitor budgets, costs, cash flow, and profitability.
  • Coordinate with PMs, site engineers, procurement, and clients.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project drawings specifications contracts BOQs tender documents and scope of work
  • Prepare accurate strong quantity take-offs cost estimates material quantities and measurement sheets strong
  • Conduct regular site visits and verify completed work against approved drawings and BOQ quantities
  • Prepare and submit strong interim payment applications monthly valuations progress claims and final accounts strong
  • Measure and certify subcontractor work and verify subcontractor invoices and payment applications
  • Identify evaluate prepare and submit strong variations change orders additional work claims and extension-related cost claims strong
  • Maintain detailed records of site instructions approved variations material usage work progress and commercial correspondence
  • Monitor project budgets committed costs actual costs cash flow cost-to-complete and project profitability
  • Prepare strong cost reports budget updates cost-value reconciliation CVR and financial forecasts strong
  • Coordinate with project managers site engineers planning engineers procurement teams consultants clients and subcontractors
  • Verify material delivery notes purchase orders subcontract agreements and work completion records
  • Assist in the preparation of RFQs comparative statements subcontractor packages and procurement evaluations
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotations and support commercial negotiations
  • Prepare rate analysis for civil structural architectural MEP and steel construction activities
  • Track material reconciliation wastage productivity and project resource utilization
  • Identify commercial risks cost overruns contractual issues and potential claims
  • Ensure all measurements and claims comply with contract conditions approved drawings and project specifications
  • Participate in progress meetings commercial meetings site inspections and client discussions
  • Maintain variation logs payment logs subcontractor registers claim registers and commercial trackers
  • Support contract administration in accordance with strong FIDIC conditions and UAE construction practices strong
  • Assist with project close-out final measurement final account settlement and subcontractor reconciliation
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of UAE construction experience as a Site Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor.
  • Strong experience in main-contracting, subcontracting, civil construction, structural steel, or infrastructure projects.
  • Sound knowledge of BOQ measurement, billing, variations, claims, contract administration, and cost control.
  • Ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil, MEP, and shop drawings.
  • Good understanding of FIDIC contracts, method of measurement, UAE construction standards, and commercial procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, PlanSwift, CostX, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, ERP systems, or similar quantity surveying software.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, negotiation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently at the project site and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period will be preferred.
