Job summary

Ghobash Group is seeking a seasoned Project Planner for oil and gas EPC projects. You will deliver master and construction schedules, generate regular progress reports, and ensure milestone tracking.

You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, manage risks, and drive cost control across all project phases. The role requires 5–6 years in construction/O&G and hands-on Primavera P6 and MS Projects experience, with strong communication and budgeting skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5–6 years of overall experience in construction or Oil & Gas projects.
  • At least 3 years in Project Planning / Control / Management.
  • Hands-on Primavera P6 and MS Projects experience.
  • Understanding of project financing and cost control principles.
  • Strong communication and risk management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Master and Construction schedule.
  • Generate Monthly, Weekly and Daily reports on activities.
  • Develop internal schedule to track milestones and deadlines.
  • Create S-curve narratives for client and management reviews.
  • Monitor and update schedules weekly and monthly.
  • Establish PMS and Deliverable Status Registers.
  • Coordinate across disciplines and subcontractors.
  • Identify risks and plan risk responses.
  • Plan materials and resources; coordinate logistics.
  • Perform critical path analysis and WBS prep.
  • Develop weekly/monthly resource histograms.
  • Prepare cash flow vs actual data and look-ahead schedules.
  • Assess progress vs plan; prepare recovery schedules.
  • Prepare PPC and RFI; review subcontractor PPC/invoices.
  • Prepare tender schedules; contribute to project costing.
  • Execute cost control and maintain forecasts and variance logs.
  • Collect cost data; maintain expense filings and database.
  • Produce cost reports and identify overruns; implement actions.
  • Calculate man-hours vs actual; adjust forecasts.
  • Prepare planning closeout and productivity calculations; EOT.
  • Plan manpower requirements.

Job description

To deliver & integrate all Project planning activities and deliverables for an oil and gas EPC projects. Responsible for delivery of standard consistent and realistic project plans reflecting the assessed risk parameters for each project.

Job Responsibilities
  • To prepare the Master and Construction schedule.
  • Generation of Monthly (MPR) Weekly (WPR) and Daily (DPR) reports on operational activities
  • Develop an internal schedule to identify & track the major milestones to achieve the project completion date.
  • Generation of analysis reports S-curve narrative reports for client & management review.
  • Monitoring and updating project schedule on weekly and monthly basis.
  • Establish Progress Measurement System (PMS) & prepare Deliverable Status Registers.
  • Work coordination between Inter discipline and subcontractors.
  • Risk identification & risk response planning.
  • Material & resource planning and coordination.
  • Critical path analysis.
  • Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) preparation.
  • Develop and update resource histogram weekly or monthly as required.
  • Preparation of project Cash flow & actual comparison.
  • Preparation of look ahead schedule.
  • Study and analyse planned progress Vs actual progress.
  • Preparation of recovery schedule to catch up the completion date.
  • Preparation of Progress Payment Certificate (PPC) and Request for Invoice (RFI)
  • Review of sub-contractor PPC and invoices
  • Preparation of tender schedule.
  • Project costing
  • Execute all cost control aspects of the project.
  • Maintain the cost trend register and preparation of monthly forecasts and variance logs.
  • Collect and arrange construction cost data and establish a sound expense filing system and database.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely project cost reports verifying cost performance against plan and identifying areas of potential budget overrun and implementing corrective action
  • Calculate man hours of each project evaluate budget man-hours Vs actual man-hours
  • Produce Project Planning closeout report and Productivity calculation Preparation of project claims extension of time (EOT)
  • Manpower planning
Qualifications :

Bachelors in Engineering in Engineering or any other equivalent discipline.

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred
  • Certificate in Primavera and MS Projects

  • Minimum of 05-06 years of overall experience in handling construction or Oil & Gas Projects.
  • Minimum of 3years of experience in a Project Planning / Project Control / Project Management.
  • Hands on experience in Primavera P6 and MS Projects.
  • Commercial awareness/understands project financing/cost control principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good health environment and safety management (HSE) knowledge and the ability to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously.
