Job summary

Turner is seeking an experienced Lead Planning Engineer to spearhead project scheduling and control for large-scale construction or oil & gas projects in the Middle East. You will lead planning activities, guide a team, and interface with stakeholders to drive project success through meticulous scheduling.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in planning, earned value management, and integration with cost controls, with proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) or equivalent.
  • Master’s Degree in Project Management is desirable.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the Middle East as a Planning Engineer in Construction or Oil & Gas sector.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and monitor comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent tools.
  • Prepare baseline schedules, look-ahead plans, progress measurement systems and recovery plans.
  • Lead project planning meetings and coordinate with engineering, procurement and construction teams.
  • Conduct critical path analysis, delay analysis and resource/cost loading assessments.
  • Generate weekly and monthly progress reports and dashboards for management and client stakeholders.
  • Identify schedule variances, trends and deviations; propose mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Manage project change requests and assess time impact analysis for variation orders.
  • Ensure alignment between project schedules and cost control budgets.
  • Maintain an interface with clients, consultants and subcontractors regarding project status and schedule risks.
  • Lead and mentor junior planners and ensure adherence to planning standards and procedures.
