Job summary

Wood in Abu Dhabi is seeking a qualified Inspection Coordinator to support EPC/PMC projects in the Oil & Gas sector. You will coordinate site inspections, manage documentation, and liaise with clients, contractors, and inspectors to ensure compliance with project specifications.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Engineering and 8+ years in Oil & Gas, with experience in EPC/PMC inspection activities, vendor coordination, and preparation of inspection registers and POs.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering with relevant accreditation.
  • 8+ years in Oil & Gas industry.
  • Experience in EPC/PMC inspection coordination.
  • Familiarity with vendor inspections and third-party coordination.
  • Experience preparing inspection registers and POs.
  • NDT Level II and Welding knowledge preferred; CSWIP/CWI optional.
  • Electrical/equipment knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule site inspections with clients, contractors, and inspectors.
  • Maintain inspection documentation prior to site inspections.
  • Ensure RFIs meet project specs with required documents.
  • Update site inspection records, NC reports, and tracking logs.
  • Follow up with Quality Engineers for NCs and close-out actions.
  • Liaise with quality teams and stakeholders on inspection packages.
  • Monitor progress and provide status updates on RFIs.
  • Support site/construction audits and filing of documentation.
  • Track KPIs and prepare inspection performance reports.
  • Compile weekly/monthly quality reports for client handover.

Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Inspection Coordinator to support EPC/PMC projects across the Oil & Gas sector. The role involves site inspection coordination, documentation, and stakeholder communication to ensure compliance with project specifications.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Engineering with professional qualifications and accreditation relevant to the role.

Minimum 8+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.

Previous experience in inspection coordination activities within EPC/PMC projects.

Experience with vendor inspection requirements and third‑party coordination.

Ability to prepare and maintain inspection registers, material release registers, and notification registers.

Experience in preparing Master Project POs, inspection look‑ahead schedules, and Pre‑inspection and Factory Acceptance Test plans.

Mechanical experience preferred, with NDT Level II and Welding knowledge.

Knowledge of CWI or CSWIP preferred; Electrical/equipment knowledge also advantageous.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule site inspections with clients, contractors, and inspectors.
  • Maintain inspection documentation prior to site inspections.
  • Ensure all Requests for site inspections comply with project specifications and include required supporting documents.
  • Maintain and update site inspection records, NC reports, and tracking logs.
  • Follow up with Quality Engineers for alarming and close‑out of site inspection findings, non‑conformities, and corrective actions until closure.
  • Liaise with quality teams and external stakeholders regarding site inspection packages and documentation, maintaining and updating project logs.
  • Monitor site inspection progress and provide regular status updates for Request for Inspection status and statistics (open, closed, rejected, ongoing, etc.).
  • Support site/construction audits and ensure inspection documentation is properly filed and accessible.
  • Track key site inspection metrics and KPIs, preparing reports that highlight inspection performance and outstanding issues.
  • Collect and maintain summary status of all inspection and site quality activities, consolidating in site weekly and monthly quality reports issued to the client.
  • Communicate daily site RFIs issuance and close‑out after endorsement to the client via the company portal.
  • Maintain final site quality dossiers for handover to the client after approval by all stakeholders (subcontractor, EPCM contractor, and client).
